The STORY of BOB -

The STORY of BOB

---‘’I hate Bob.‘’ When we say that we hate someone…what (and who) is it that we are talking about? I would like to take a closer look at this. When we say this…I’d like to say that we are NOT accurate.
---’’I hate Bob.’’ Am I saying that I hate Bob OR, am I saying that I hate the way Bob acts. I hate the way Bob behaves. I may hate Bob’s attitude. But…when push comes to shove - I probably do NOT hate Bob.
---Actually, do I even know Bob, behind the ways he presents himself? I would say probably NOT. I would have to say that Bob is the being, the blank slate, that has these different attitudes and behaviors that I pin to him. I call this husk ‘’Bob’’ if you will.
---The funny thing about this is that Bob is different, dependent upon who you ask. Bob’s mother sees him different than his dad. His worst enemy sees him much different than his best friend. I asked his girl friend. I asked his preacher. Everyone I ask has a little different interpretation than each other…AND myself. Sometimes it gets so far out that I have to remind myself that it is the Bob that I know.

---If we look at attitudes and behaviors by themselves we see that they are like coats we put on and take off. We see that ALL of us are pretty much ‘’naked’’ dressed in different attitudes and behaviors that make up the personality of this thing we call Bob, Jim, Mary and Karin.
---Any good psychologist will tell you that we are like an ONION that peels away one layer at a time. Eventually, usually after much peeling…we get to the heart of the matter.
---Bob is peeling, as we both are…as we ALL are. Actually, Bob has some pretty neat attitudes and behaviors that I find ‘’fun’’ and ‘’enjoyable’’ when we talk about computers. He has a way of putting the coats on and interpreting them that happens to educate and entertain me. Hanging with him all-of-the-time would be a little much. But, as a ‘’dressed husk’’ in small doses…we laugh a lot. Take Care.

I Thought That YOU May Enjoy This...

KANGAROO'S CAN'T WALK BACKWARDS

A Kangaroo Can’t Walk Backwards

---In life, many of us seem to wish that we could have a do over, wish we could take that back or would wish we would be given a second chance. I’ve noticed that even though many may slip and simply have made a mistake…there are many who do the same thing (make the same mistake) again and again! They are aware that something is wrong about their answer, but they really can’t put their finger on the mistake.
---Unlike the kangaroo, we can walk backwards. We can cover our tracks, our mistakes or whatever it is that may need covering. But, not everyone does a real good job of it. It is usually because the mistake has left a gaping hole that needs covering, but the knowledge to know to properly treat the wound is not learned. That is why we see many folks putting bandages on cancers. They are ineffectual and out-and-out NOT the correct answer for the situation.
---This wrongness of treatment can be easily traced back to the ‘’need to be perfect’’ and inability to withstand ‘’looking badly’’ for a second longer than we have to. We put a bandage on it and hope the blame doesn’t get focused on us for any length of time.
---If we are/were MORE secure about ourselves, we would actually welcome these moments, because these are the ones that teach us. If we spend most of our time pretending that we are perfect…then THESE MOMENTS CAN BE DEVASTATING!
---Once, again…we are saving face instead of telling the truth. We wouldn’t have the need to backtrack if we methodically and deliberately took each and every step slowly and thoughtfully. We don’t. We tend to plow along until we can’t do that anymore.
---The answer to this is just to be aware of what you are doing. If you are down-in-the-dumps, listen to Mark Twain - ‘’to cheer yourself up, cheer someone else up.’’ Realize that, along with everyone else, you are, probably, NOT PERFECT…EITHER. It may take some of the burden off of you to know that. I guarantee that knowing that and embodying that is a huge step forward. With that knowledge…there is NO NEED to cover your tracks. At this point, we may find we have more in common with the kangaroo than we think. Be Well.

ENJOY LIFE!

.
---I think many folks get confused by the term - LOVE YOURSELF. I think it is more understandable and less confusing when one relates it as - ACCEPT YOURSELF.

Enlightened or NOT? Amount of Self-Knowledge

How Does One Know if He is Enlightened?

---One is enlightened in accord to the amount of self-knowledge he possesses. We all know something to a certain degree. But,..when you meet that someone who basically has a clue to how things work. That includes himself, also. He sees that both work the same, for all intents and purposes. He will know. He can, basically, tell you that that is how love works, also. There is a very good chance that he is enlightened. He has total self-knowledge.

The INFINITE WAY - Joel S. Goldsmith

---Joel S. Goldsmith was very pivotal in my life. He helped me to resolve and realize the similarities of EASTERN & WESTERN thought. His writings provided the insights that I needed to move through a major roadblock in my life. I became aware of Joel Goldsmith in the latter half of the 1970's.

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!

---We are all familiar with the statue of David, or any piece of art for that matter. We begin with a block of granite or marble and begin chipping away. Eventually…we let out what we had in mind in the first place. It took Michelangelo to let David out of block of marble. It took Da Vinci to reveal the Mona Lisa. All art works the same way. It takes someone or something to untrap what is really within.
---We are the same way. We are like diamonds in the rough. Inside of us all is (we‘ll call it our EGO,) which tries to keep our real self - TRAPPED. We are our own worst enemy at times and get in ‘’our own way’’ very often.
---Our EGO always competes and compares itself with everyone and it speaks of how we are the best at everything that we do…for all intents and purposes. The EGO wants to be the star performer…while life is really about being one of the team. We always do our best, but we let other stars shine, too. Though, you may have the better of the ideas, it usually takes the assembling of a team of sorts to carry them out.
---In conclusion, we see that we tend to shine when the conditions are the right ones for us. It may take someone ‘’special’’ to get the piece of art that we are - out of us. But, usually, it is life itself that sets up the conditions to help us flourish. Eventually, we get good at finding those circumstances that are best for our flourishing.

---We are ALL a piece of art just waiting to be released from our ego-captivity…by that someone or circumstance. Sometimes it is our spouse, children or parents - but, it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes it shows itself as a problem for us. It is usually in the form that brings us to highest and truest of ourselves. Good luck to us ALL in this process. HINT: It can begin with some form of acceptance. Take Care.

10 RULES FOR BEING HUMAN!

Ten Rules For Being Human

1. You receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it is yours for the entire period.

2. You learn lessons. You are enrolled in a ful-time informal school called ''life.''

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error and experimentation. The failed experiments are as much a part of the process as those that ultimately work.

4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be repeated to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, then it means there are still lessons to learn.

6. ''There'' is no better place to be than ''here.'' When your ''there'' becomes a ''here'' you will simply obtain another ''there.''

7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need is to look, listen and trust. If you don't trust, learn that, too,

10. You may forget and re-learn all this.

JACK SCHWARZ - A ''MOST'' Extraordinary Individual

Jack Schwarz CLICK
.
---Click on the link and read about Jack Schwarz. Some may be aware of him...already. His books are available for sale online. Enjoy.

---He was really something else, BUT, that is because it is OURSELVES that are something else. I think that we would be more like Jack Schwarz if we allowed ourselves. Human Beings seem to be very good at interfering with processes that tend to be good and helpful for them and get-in-the-way of the naturalness of life.

EASTER: The Ultimate in Self-Acceptance

---When we think of Easter…I wonder where it is that our attention goes? Is it to eggs and bunnies hopping around? Or, does it go to the cross? Is it Christ being raised from the dead? Or, your thoughts may go to something that I’ve never heard.

---As I see it, the resurrection is the next step in the progression of being yourself. It is accepting yourself on another level that when death is NOT interfered with...it happens naturally. Then it is another step in the growth process.
---Just as a seed must die to become the plant within. The acorn ‘’dies’’ to take root and becomes the tree that is potentially always inside. Humans become the love that is inside. That is why ‘’the love you take is equal to the love you make.’’
---The key that we see running through all of this is that the person becomes more and more integrated and becomes what he/she is slated to become. In humans we see that what actually dies is ones ego or false sense of self and he/she becomes more and more who he/she really is.
---He or she is truly love. It makes much more sense learning the ways of love-by loving and things of that nature then trying to mentally figure this all out. You will understand love by being loving; not by logically trying to suss it out. By adding personalities and emotionalism you just complicate the issue. You end up confusing more than clarifying. Take Care.

FRUSTRATION to
LIKING WHERE WE ARE!

---I think that most folks are very frustrated. They are frustrated from NOT reaching their potentials and functioning at their highest possible level. They are NOT quite being who they really are and what is really possible for them.

---Most folks are settling in a sense. I think that NOT knowing what they are capable of…factors in very strongly. Folks are, usually, NOT presented with choices that would increase their ability and don’t know how to make proper choices to stay present, where they are.

---To live and love in the present moment…seems to be optimal. So, taking this to be a true statement…we must concede that most folks aren’t living in the present moment when that is where they are ALL THE TIME. What’s wrong? Why is this the case?

---I feel that most choices presented to folks are NOT for the present moment. Most effects of the choices people make, propel them elsewhere…like a pinball bouncing around.

---People have to make choices based on what brings them into the present moment. It is the ‘’choice-less awareness’’ that is in the present. The result of the choice always leads one away. If one likes and enjoys WHAT HE DOES, where he is, then he will stay. If one is NOT comfortable with where he is…then he will always find himself going elsewhere. This is how we go from being a ‘’frustrated’’ being into…WHO WE ARE, where we are.

---When we do things that we enjoy doing…IT GIVES OUR LIVES QUALITY. It works from the inside - OUT. When we do things we like, we will enjoy being where we are. If we wait until we enjoy the place that we are…before we begin doing things that we like to do - we may find ourselves spending much of the time ‘’waiting and hating’’ where we are. This can apply to the way that we view our relationship to the world and universe, itself. Take Care.

Biography - J. Krishnamurti Online

Biography - J. Krishnamurti Online

---I must admit that the experience that I had on that Sat.,
in October, 1976, happened before I read Krishnamurti's stuff. But, reading his material gave me something to relate to
through the years. I highly recommend anything that he may have endorsed. His ''Commentaries on Living'' - first edition is probably the best book that I ever read.
---I had never seen most of the audio/video that is contained on this website. My experience had been through the books. A big KUDOS to this man. Thank you.

The CHOICE IS SIMPLE!

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because there is shelter for my mind, body and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have!

The VOID: Space Between Breaths/Thoughts

The Space Between The Breaths,
The Space Between Thoughts -

---There is an interval of time or to be correct NO TIME, that could be designated by the space between breaths/thoughts. Intuitively, it seems easy to answer yes to this as a concept, but to experience this space usually takes some development.

---For me it is the easiest to just be aware that the space exists and NOT to breath often when I am there. It is an ‘’IS’’ place. The space itself expands and one becomes aware that he occupies that space and breathing becomes so deeply shallow that one does find himself breathing in and about that space...never moving too far from it.

---The same happens with thought. One, through meditation, finds that he has slowed his mind down enough - to stop thinking and allow the naturalness of mind to think for you. If one is at a high degree of self-knowledge and self-acceptance…there is NOT a problem with any thought being intrusive. One finds that he is an observer of his own thoughts and thought processes. Each is very innocuous and not very earth shattering and whatever comes up is very easy to deal with.

---Learning to be in this space and staying there can be the same as being at HOME with yourself. Learning to develope spending your time there reaps many benefits as one realizes that this is the void itself, that you undoubtedly heard about. It is more of an allowing it than a trying to make it…occur. One learns to stop interfering with it’s presence and watches it expand.

LIVING IN THE PRESENT MOMENT!

Living in the Present

---There are many people who speak about living in the HERE and NOW. What do they mean by that?
---Many people are in the present moment PHYSICALLY, but very few are actually there MENTALLY at the same time. Some WORRY about what is going to happen, whether it be soon or way down the line.
---Others spend their time thinking of things in the past. It could be some kind of blame where they feel someone is responsible for their circumstance. Or, it could be some kind of GUILT for something they, themselves, may have done that succeeded in making them seem less than perfect.
---Some could be in the present with an agenda to make things happen in a certain way. But, I wonder how many are in the present moment free and clear…just happy to be where they are. Whether in or out of the hospital, I’ll bet we don’t find a lot of people in that category. I find that when people ENJOY what they do, they are much happier. Take Care.

TENSES

Conjugation of the Verb -To Be

1. PRESENT TENSE

I am             We are
You are        You are
He/she/it is  They are

---The PRESENT MOMENT is where we find the good stuff.
We do most of our good living and are most attentive in the PRESENT MOMENT. FEAR is what takes us from the Present. It gives us ALL kinds of discomforts and makes us want to be someplace else. When we have a fondness for what we are dealing with, there is a very good chance that we are standing in the present. There is also a very good chance that we are easily giving ourselves to what we are dealing. As

I said...we want to stay in the PRESENT MOMENT but find that our penchant to respond to different fears...KNOCKS us from there.

 2.
PAST TENSE

I was                   We were
You were            You were
He/she/it was      They were

---We live in the PAST, basically, because we are still working on things that we never completed. We never learned our life lesson's from events of the past. We NEVER have fully done things that we have started. Even though we are physically in the present we still have the mindset we had in the past. If we learn our lesson then there would be no problem, but most folks do much the same types of things ad finitum. They do much of the same things over-and-over.

3. FUTURE TENSE

I will                 We will
You will            You will
He/she/it will   They will

---Our FUTURE finds us doing much the same. In the ideal we would have a situation where a person moves from one task to the next - completing each task as he goes along. But, that is why folks live in HOPES and DREAMS so much. People are trying to resolve what they began. They are NOT as satisfied as they should be...and they really can't put their finger on why? They are NOT free enough to break from the past. They are still trying to fix things to complete events that they are still involved with. Most miss the PRESENT MOMENT and live in the PAST and FUTURE.

More later...
